“Natural hydrogen” cited in European Union strategy report
The European Strategy and Policy Analysis System (ESPAS) from the European Union has published his new report, Choosing Europe’s Future, in April 2024. The report describes global and European trends up to 2040.
In chapter on Energy transition, it mentions natural hydrogen in particular: “the possibility of mining natural hydrogen deposits has potential for a future energy revolution.”. The references for this quotation are the articles writed by Eric Hand (Sciences, 2023) and Dr. Eric C. Gaucher (European geologist, 2023).
The European Union is looking for solutions to enable the energy transition. Natural hydrogen is beginning to be seen as a credible response by the research and industrial sectors. This mention in this report echoes the intensification of investment in this sector in Europe and abroad.
